I'm scared!! J has never given us sleeping problems, and we've never even sleep trained him, but this reminds me we are never ever in the clear and that anything can happen!!

Hang in there, I hope Miss LMW gets back to normal soon and that you all get some rest. Hopefully this is just a short SHORT phase. Maybe the vacay coupled with the time change is doing all sorts of wonky things to her system.

@edelweiss: I don't think that hunger is an issue because when she's up for the morning (around 5!) she's happy and giggly and not cranky and starving. And I don't think it's a food sensitivity thing because the vomit was all spit before and is now all food, and I can hear her forcing it. Before she would vomit because she'd cough too much while crying. Now she's dryheaving and gagging herself as soon as she starts crying. :(

4 month sleep regression...lasted about 2.5 months! Then the 9 months sleep regression...which lasted about 4 months.

I'm sorry though, your situation sounds awful! :(

our 12-month regression (or whatever it was) lasted about 2 weeks. during that period LO would wake up, and we would do a mixture of CIO/cave/hang out/put back to sleep/CIO again/and so on for 2 hours on various blessed nights.

i was wondering, after she vomits, does it make her get hungry earlier and aggravate the cycle? does it matter what she eats? just wondering if there are ways to reduce the chance of vomiting. i'm sorry it must be so stressful! it's hard because you don't want to build habits that need to be broken, but on the other hand you gotta do what you gotta do in order for everyone to get some sleep!

The 4 month regression lasted from 3.5 months until we started sleep training two weeks ago at 6 months. Now sleep issues are back as we try to swaddle wean.

the 3 month sleep regression lasted 3 months until we caved and sleep trained at 6 months!

He had an 18 month sleep regression too that lasted 6 weeks. Both were very hard!

Good luck and I hope she grows out of it soon!

HIs 4 month last several months but he recently had one at 18 mos that last 9 days. It was almost exactly what you described and we were doing everything to make it stop-laying on the floor, rocking to sleep, co-sleeping, giving him a bottle which we had previously weaned from....all of that and it really only stopped when we let him CIO for the majority of one of the wakeups. It was almost 4 hours one night in total. Brutal, but he's been STTN again since.

It's been a week now and LMW is still waking crying 2-3 times a night. If we don't go to her, she now vomits within the first few minutes of crying, and not just spit anymore... it's food vomit. So if we don't want to change sheets and rebathe, we have to go to her RIGHT away. I only have two mattress pads so we can only let her vomit once..!!

She's almost 20 months now. I don't even know what to do anymore. Last night I got so desperate, I brought her to our bed... we are NOT cosleepers... but she just rolled around happily then stood up and started banging on our headboard and laughing.

I'm thinking of just setting up some blankets and sleeping on the floor in her room, or right outside her door. That's basically what we've been doing, sitting outside her door until she's asleep, and she seems happy with that... but it doesn't change the fact that she's still up 2-3 times a night. She lies back down and stops crying when we poke our head in the door and tell her to lie back down. I tried doing it over the monitor speaker last night and she quieted down, but I was "shhh"ing for over half an hour straight and she'd always start crying as soon as I stopped.

Wagon Sr. and I are at our wits end...!! We're exhausted!!! She must be, too. All three of us are waking every 3-5 hours every night, all night. It is awful.

Help...??
