I could take up to one year of unpaid parental leave, but I ended up quitting to SAH.</p> <p>Where I am living now in Austria by law parents have 1 year of parental leave. The mother is required to stop working 8 weeks before the due date. From what I understand, the parents can then split up the remaining 10 months between them, so for example the woman can take 9 months and the man 3.
