My old company was bought out by investors and I anticipated layoffs would conflict with my TTC timeline so I jumped ship. I then left that job and started a new one 2 months ago. We are still TTC even though I have only been here a few months. We've been TTC for 18 months. I was really unhappy at my old job but put off looking for a new one because we might get pregnant. Before we started to TTC I was at my job for 4.5 years. But then I was laid off and kept TTCing. I found out I was pregnant 2 days before getting my current job. </p> <p>After having been laid off from a company I was with for so long, I felt absolutely no loyalty to any new employers. The only thing that factored in job-wise was that I wanted to be able to use FMLA leave. So not an issue.</p> <p>For when we TTC #2 it won't be a factor. I have learned my family life is WAY more important than my job. For those of you working when ttc, how long were you at your job before deciding to ttc? Did length of employment factor into your ttc plans? If you weren't working but looking, how did ttc timing factor into your search?</p> <p>I wanted to be at my job for at least a year before needing to announce I'm expecting. We arent ttc yet, and my 1yr work anniversary is January. Earlier we were discussing 1.5yrs being a good timeframe, which I like as well. How about everyone else? </p>
