Both were the same or longer than active early labor. I think the epidural significantly slowed my progress both times. I can't remember exactly with my first.. but I got to the hospital and was checked around 1130am and I was 4cm. He was born within 2 hours or so.</p> <p>With my second I was checked at my 40 week appointment at 4 cm and deemed early labor.
