@night cheese: I felt like that with my first!

I am doing too much. I was told to slow it down and just rest. I've been on my feet, moving around and going places since the night I was discharged. I felt so great the first few days after surgery that I just haven't stopped. I even went home a day early. I had her Tuesday morning and went home Thursday afternoon.

I'm not driving or lifting anything heavier than Charlotte, but I'm also running errands, going with my husband to preschool 3x/wk for Chloe, plus her gymnastics, and last night we went to my parents house where I helped cook dinner.

I need to cool it and stop thinking I can do it all. I wasn't sore like this with my first! But it's also hard when we have an older kid at home, too..

I was up and about in a couple of days, off my pain meds in a week, and moving around as usual (but with nothing strenuous) then as well

But honestly, it took four weeks until I felt fully like myself again.

Update: she said the pain is my uterus. Anatomically, I'm still 4-5 months pregnant. She said in second time moms the uterus is more stretched out and takes longer to contract back to normal size. Basically, it's normal after pains.

She recommended alternating Tylenol with ibuprofin.

Normal! It seemed like it took foreeeeever to not get sore the second time around, like 10 weeks! Frustrating because I'm usually a pretty active person

@Nskillet: that's a good idea! In glad I have his help. I still can't drive and am on lifting restrictions, so even if I could drive I can't lift the kids.

My mom will be helping with preschool picks up/drop offs once DH goes back to work!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: good thing, DH will only be home with me for a week this time. Sort of worried but he is in a new job and I've asked my mom to stay home with me for week 2.

Glad you're getting checked. I know I felt pain away from my incision site but don't know if that's from nerve endings being dead?

@Nskillet: my husband is still home for another week!

I'm not lifting anything, but we are fairly active. Lots of in and out of the car..

I have an appt this afternoon bc I don't like the way my insxision looks, so I'll ask about the muscle soreness too. My insxision is painless. This is above!

I think it sounds like you are overdoing it, can someone come help out so you can relax a little bit more. I know it is easier said than done, but I think it's important for a successful recovery!

I have my second in March and I've already told my mom and MIL that I need their assistance after DH goes back to work. My recovery was easy last time (off drugs by 10 days and moving around easily) but I know with a toddler it wont' be as easy this time.

After my first I also remember being sore not at my incision site for a good 2 weeks. I can't even imagine 2 babies yet but can only imagine how difficult it is to rest!

Definitely try and take it easy! I can't imagine how hard that is with 2 babies though.

It sounds like you need to take it easy. This is major abdominal surgery and if you work yourself too hard it may not heal correctly or take much longer. I can imagine with two kids now, that's not easy but do try. I say this knowing I'll likely be doing the same thing in 7 months.

With my first, it took a few weeks to heal. I was completely off pain meds by 10 days, but I also had the time to rest and heal.

Now that I have two kids, I find myself doing more and more around the house. I don't have Percocet level pain, but in the last two or three days I've noticed an achy feeling under my belly button. It isn't my incision, and it feels like muscle ache...?

Would you worry? Does this sound normal? It's much harder to sit back with my feet up this time!
