@Mrs.B: I would call the hospital directly and confirm. That doesn't sound right to me....

@regberadaisy: That is what I thought. I will be delivering LO at a different hospital then I delivered DS. I also have a different OBGYN this time around. I'm happy we will have a short stay but I'm also feeling a little overwhelmed with the thought of leaving so soon.

At my hospital, for vaginal deliveries, the stay is generally 48 hours after birth. For c-sections it is 72. They are open to you leaving earlier or later than that depending on your preference though.

What?? I have never heard of that before? I always assumed vaginal to be 48hours and Csection longer.

At my doctor apt yesterday I came with a list of questions for the first time. One of my questions was how long is the hospital stay after delivery. With DS I recall staying 2 full nights and going home around lunch time after the second night. My doctor said the hospital stay will be 24 hours after delivery. This blew my mind as I remember staying longer with DS. With a C Section the stay would be 48 hours which still seems short. I am however really happy that I won't be in the hospital long. I don't want DS to have to stay with anyone to long and I'm happy we will get to start our at home routine quickly. So how long is your hospital stay going to be if you have a normal delivery? How long was your stay? It just blows my mind that if I have LO at 8am on a Monday we will be discharged at 8am on a Tuesday.
