@kiddosc: yup, I texted her future MIL because we're related to her and she's the host. That was last week because the bride to be had nothing on the second registry. I've been checking off and on and today there are a handful of towels....

I would email my family member and ask if they're planning to add more to the registry. Then they'll either use it as a reminder to get on that, or let you know that they aren't going to add.

If it's stressing you out to not have a gift yet, but nothing on the registry really speaks to you, I'd go ahead and purchase something off-registry, but from one of the stores she's registered at. Be sure to include a gift receipt and even scan the registry when you purchase, to make a return as easy as possible for her. She may not love what you picked, but she'll at least be able to return what you got her without hassle, and she can use the gift card/store credit for something else.

If you're not stressed out about it, I'd wait as long as you can! I've been known to shop on my way to a shower (thank goodness for gift bags!). Hopefully she's keeping an eye on the registries and will add items since both are sparse.

I have a family bridal shower to go to on the 28th. I've recieved the invite for almost two weeks now but their registry is pretty sparse. Maybe 10 items in one registry and 7 in another?
So far nothing really speaks to me. Would you purchase from the registry now or wait a bit more? How long would you wait before purchasing off registry ?

I'd prefer to buy online and not just buy a GC! But maybe a sparse registry is her attempt to hint at GCs?

P.S. I'm expecting the shower to be huge because the other shower in the same family was huge and it's at the same location. And I think it's 4m before the wedding because of OOT guests. So it doesn't make sense for the small registry!
