He does two-soccer and fitness- as pull out classes at school. He used to do baseball on Sundays but it was hectic.

Right now just one, gymnastics for my older LO but they will both be doing swim lessons soon too. I prefer weekday activities whenever possible but I SAH and lo is only in school 2 mornings a week.

We don't do any paid/organized group activities at the moment, but LO still has plenty to do and spends a lot of time playing with neighbors and other friends.

When you say she's bored, what does that look like?

We just have one starting in April - our 3yo will be doing creative movement Saturdays @ 9:15. Now that she doesn't nap, we still have most of the day to do other stuff. And it's a city program so it's cheap enough that if we miss, I don't care.

None and I wish my son would be more open to them, so we're going to try swimming on the weekends once school begins in September.

My son gets soooo bored it's not funny. I thought I was doing the right thing by not having obligations on the weekned and giving everyone downtime, but it's had the opposite effect and makes everyone crazy, especially during the winter months.

We only do one at a time. So far they have all been Sat AM but she will start soccer after daycare in the next week. Our feeling is she's young and gets stimulation all day at school so she doesn't need more than that, and we value our family time on the weekends.

@winniebee: @T.H.O.U.: This is only from mid April to early June, and we have no travel plans. We don't have any family nearby either! I find after school activities more stressful with our schedules, and i hate rushing LO1. I most likely will only have her in swimming once we get into the summer months!

None to one max. We like to do family activities on the weekend when possible. I also think it's good for the kids to decompress at least one day a week and just play at home or in the area at least.

We just signed my 3 year old up for soccer but it takes place at our daycare during the time she'd be there anyway. I'm really trying to hold off on having required activities on the weekends for as long as possible as I know they will get filled up soon enough. And we're busy enough on weekends as it is trying to see family and run errands.

Right now, 2. "Dance" class is Wednesdays at 4. The nanny takes him. It's really a music and movement class where they do parachute, yoga, hot potato, and games. We also do family music on Fridays, my day off. I think he could do one more during the week, but he does go to preschool two days from 830-330 and that's a pretty full day. We usually go to the library or museum or to the Y to swim.

My husband would flip if I tried to schedule too much on weekends. We tend to visit with family and friends and get stuff around the house done. He'd be ok with one thing per weekend (swim lesson or soccer or ski lesson) but that's it, I think.

Wow! Yea that would completely annoy me with 3 activities all on the weekend. What do you do if you want to go out of town, or to the beach, or visit with family?

My daughter is 4 and she usually does 2 but we agreed to let her try a third this season.

Ballet is for an hour and they come to her school (so nothing out of our day, she's just pulled out of the classroom).

Gymnastics is first thing saturday morning but we have done weekday evening classes as well. Very cheap and NBD if we miss a class.

Soccer so she could try a team sport with 3 other kids in her class that are also playing. This is only for 7 weeks and its on friday nights from 5:30-6:15. No real impact to family plans.

@regberadaisy: We can walk to both places, so that will be nice. We're trying out a new swim club which is much closer to our house so i'm hoping it works out better!

Almost 4 and zero. Right now we're a one car / one driver family. This will hopefully change soon. When it does I don't think I can handle more than one activity at a time!

A little after LO1 turns 4, she will have three activities on the weekend - dance and art on Saturdays and swimming on Sundays. The two classes on Saturdays are at the same location and she will have a long enough break in between to have lunch and play at the playground. I figure the class ends early enough that we'll still get to enjoy the afternoon as a family.

Is 3 too much? I find that she is getting bored on the weekends and having some 1-on-1 time would be good for her. I'm also disliking after school activities - we're always rushed!

What about you guys? Lots or little activities?
