We just sold our urban townhouse that was 2bd/2ba with loft/office and purchased a 4 bedroom plus office house in suburbialand! We're expecting twins in November and then we're done ;) They'll share a room for the first few years leaving us two guest bedrooms and then they can each have their own room and we'll still have a guest bedroom.

We have 3 bedrooms right now, which we've decided is good for just one kid, and maybe the second one, if we finish a room in the basement for a guest room. My family lives 15 hours away so it's important to us to have a guest room!!!

Eventually, if we have the 3 kids we're talking about, we'll have a 4 bedroom house as long as there is space somewhere (like a basement) for a guest room.

We'll probably have 2 kids, and I'd like to end up in a 4 or 5 bedroom house. We'll be living in Iowa though, so real estate is cheap! If we were to stay in California where we live now I think there's no way we'd ever afford something more than a 3 bedroom.

We currently have 4 bedrooms (technically) but the previous owners had the fourth smallest bedroom converted to a walk-in dressing room for our master :)

We have a den/office down stairs, so that leaves one guestroom and one nursery :)

So for our forever house, we will need at least 4 legit bedrooms; that are decent sizes that the LO(s) can grow into :)

We have 3 bedrooms and we will absolutely be getting 4 bedrooms in the next house. We are converting the one we're using as an office into the nursery, and we're having to combine the office with the guest bedroom. So we're already feeling crammed. And we're going to have at least one more baby, so 4 it is!

We wanted 2min maybe 3. When house shopping I wanted min 3 bedrooms with an additional room that can be used for guests (ie den) but preferably 4 bedrooms. We ended up with a 4 bedroom.

we just moved last year into a home that we wanted to live in for at least 10 years. it has 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs used as a study for now. we ideally want 3 kids, so i wanted a home that had 4 bedrooms upstairs, but it was just more expensive. so we'll probably have 2 kids share a room until we move again or eventually convert the downstairs room into another bedroom.

Our house currently has 3 bedrooms, which is enough when we take into account our future family plans. Ideally we'd like to have a house with 3 bedrooms AND dedicated offices for my husband and I. But that won't happen unless we build our own home. And we aren't moving from here unless one of us gets a sweet out of state job offer, or we can afford to build our own. So it looks like 2 bedrooms w/ one being an office will have to do for now. :-)

We plan on building and will have 3 bedrooms upstairs and a finished basement with 1-2 more. We plan on 2 kids, with a possiblity for a 3rd so this should be big enough for us. We have been talking more and more about our next home, it's getting excited. We found the land we want, so we just have to start savings big time!

Our house is a 3 bed, 1.5 bath & we considered it a "forever home" when we bought it. How wrong we were, though it's not really an issue with the number of beds and baths - it's all about the size of the rooms!

Our early '40s home has the opposite of an open floor plan, and although there are more rooms, the room size is on the smaller side. The biggest concern is actually how the heck we would comfortably live with 3 or 4 kids in the smaller kitchen and living rooms.

We currently have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath townhouse. It works perfectly for the 2 of us - plus Toby, our dog :-)

DH and I work for the same company and we don't have the need for an office. So our extra bedroom right now just has boxes, and misc. things in it (our printer, computer stuff, etc.)

We would like 2 kids, so I think 3-4 bedrooms would be perfect.

We have one DD with another LO due in Sept. We currently have a 3BR, 2.5 bath home that is about 1200sq ft living space without a basement. We have to have keep one of the bedrooms as an office since DH does some free-lance work and we don't have anywhere else he could work. We plan to put both LOs in the same room which can work long term if LO#2 is a girl and will work short term if LO#2 is a boy. Ideally we want something bigger with a basement but just took our house off the market because we didn't even get a nibble so we'll make the best of it for at least another 2-3 years.

We’re moving into a 3 bedroom/2 bath and I think that it should do us for awhile. I don’t know how many kids we’ll be having. It depends on how this one goes! But our ideal number is between 3 and 5 so we’d probably need more bedrooms if it was higher than 3. I’d prefer to have a guest bedroom but I don’t think it’s a necessity. My parents never had an extra guest room. They’d just kick one of us out of our rooms which I think is perfectly fine :)

We have two kids with hopes of a third, and we are currently in a three bedroom/3 bath house. I think it's fine except that I'd really like to have a guest bedroom/den/office so when family comes to visit they don't have to sleep on the couch. :) So, our next house will have at least three bedrooms and a "bonus room" of some sort.

We're in a modestly sized 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. It is more than enough space for DH and I. And once LO is here there is still room for her and a guest bedroom/another baby. We bought this house with the notion that it would be our starter home and will be looking for something bigger in 4-6 years. I don't mind if the bed/bath number is the same, but I would prefer if everything in our next house was much larger in terms of square footage.

I want to always have a guest room. So if we have two kids we need a 4 bedroom house and if we have three kids we need a 5 bedroom house. We currently have a three bedroom house. We intend to move before we have a second child... but we also could make it work in this house since we have a loft space upstairs that could easily become a fourth bedroom by just putting up a wall and building a closet.
