We read books a lot during the day. Bedtime is just brushing teeth, changing diaper/clothes if necessary, and then a brief cuddly chat in the glider and rocking to sleep.</p> <p>Reading is really important to me, but I am glad it's decoupled from bedtime. I had the same issue--we'd finish a picture book, or I'd say "we'll finish this chapter" for a chapter book, and then he'd say "Okay, now this one!" (Uh, no. Mom is tired, kiddo!) I started telling him to put whatever he wants to read next in a certain spot on the floor by the bed, and we'd read it first tomorrow.
