I had this 'deep cleaning' and it's as bad as it sounds. They do a whole bunch of novocaine on one side of your mouth at a time (so two visits) and really get up under there to get all the gunk out, mostly on teeth with the gums receding. It was awesome. The upside is, once you have it, that is when your dental insurance starts paying for 4 visits a year (i have a copay for every other). It's awesome. It's ridiculous, because while I love sugar, I'm a brusher and brush my teeth at least 3 times a day! All of my back molars grew in with deep grooves. So no matter how much I brushed, flossed, etc. I was destined to end up with cavities in those teeth. I am very unlucky that my mouth just builds plaque super fast, even with flossing/brushing/mouth wash every single day. My mom and my sister are the same way, and the dentist said it can be genetic. It SUCKs. I have to go to the dentist every 3 months, too.<br /> So yes, I am concerned that future LOs will inherit this from me.
