I dilated to a 10 in 2 hours after getting the epidural though, and then only needed to push for a half hour or so. I'd originally been planning on trying to wait it out as long as possible but when the time came I desperately needed the rest. I was induced, hoping for as natural of a birth as possible and things were not progressing.
