A few years back I started sending up to 20 to my core friends/family then sending one back to everyone who sends one to me, which is easy since their return address label is right there. This year I bought through Costco, 50 for $16.99. I know the quality won't be as good but when you factor in postage, Shutterfly/Tinyprints would have been about $100 for sending out 50 cards! I keep a spreadsheet address book and I actually mark who we get cards from, too. I tend to send out about 45 but there are always a couple I receive that I didn't think to send to. If I NEVER get a card in return (like for 3 years) and it is not an elderly family member, I don't send one.
