@anonysquire: We go to a church where folks dress up a good amount. We'll take LO in khakis and a button down or a polo shirt. Or...in the very beginning, we took him in those onesies that had a tie on the onesie. Loved it :o)

We attend a business casual type attire church BUT alot of people still dress their bebe's all snazzy.

I think that baby's are exempt from stuffy attire though & you can dress them in just about anything! P has a few dresses, but she also wears skirts, rompers, jeggings/capris, and tights w/ shorts under them (when it's cold) so her regular wardrobe works for church & she doesn't really have any "church" specific outfits.

We have three fancy dresses for LO that I put her in if I have my act together to iron them. Sometimes I just put her less fancy jersey onesie dresses or leggings with a cute top though and feel proud that we're there and decent ;)

@anonysquire: For a boy maybe dress him the same? Given that he's a little older a white button up/down and black pants would be nice! For a baby, I don't know if it matters too much, you could throw him in some pants and a knitted sweater or vest, or in the summer a short sleeve nicer shirt

Girl, any dress that isn't cotton would probably be bests. Cotton is really casual and you are Morman (right??) so it's a little dressier ..so maybe something more like these:

LO has a ton of summer dresses she wears to church/play/family stuff ect. so she usually wears one of those. When it was cold I put her in a cute pant outfit, since our church has a wide variety, some wear jeans some wear suits. It's a free for all really :)

If in your church all men are wearing white shirts and ties, it's still ok to dress them casually? I'm just asking, I really not know what's appropriate here!

My son hates button down shirts, for the record, so unless you know in advance that a child likes them, I'd avoid "stocking up." He's 2.5 and no matter what the dress code is, I dress him for comfort, because it's not worth the tantrum that ensues.

Our church is pretty casual (most guys in slacks no ties) but I just put her in a nicer dress. I usually get 2-3 nicer dresses for each size. That gives us a good church rotation for her and usually by the time she has worn everything twice, we are onto the next size anyways.

I think boys are easier because like @honeybear: they can wear the same pair of pants and button down shirt and it doesnt' really matter.

Dd has a dozen dresses, but our church is casual, so I usually put her in comfortable play clothes. She likes to run around and climb on all the big toys at church..

I put my son in comfortable clothes too. On special holidays I'll dress him up in a collared shirt or polo though!

LO has basically just one church outfit. At least every other Sunday he wears the same button-down, collared shirt and pants. He has some polos as well and I view those as acceptable for church on him (although I do have a different standard for grown men--no golf shirts in church, please!). But when he was a baby, I totally just took him in whatever outfit looked the most comfortable, so he frequently went in footed pajamas. ;)

If you go to church once a week, how many church outfits do you have for your LO? Also if you dress nicely at church (suits and dresses) what do you out your babies and toddlers in?

Just trying to figure out what is a good amount :)
