We met through church and have been friends since middle school. My best friend from college lives in MN and we talk at least a few times a week. I see my middle school best friend every time she's in town once every couple months average... and my best friend Emily from my last job... we try to getogether at least once a month. We're all scattered now, and all four of us have very different relationships with one another, but we were/will be each other's bridesmaids (mixed in with other bridesmaids as well) and we get together a few times a year, usually around the holidays, and we each get a themed birthday present each year (tiffany necklace, gift certificate to a local cool restaurant, etc etc). My sister and sister-in-law are right up there and are the people I talk to the most. Then I have my best friend from growing up - I have known her since I was a baby; my cousin and I have gone in and out of being close through the years but now she lives closeby again and I'm super excited to see her more often; the three others are from college. Additionally, I've met a few women recently in a new moms group and I can see us becoming closer as the years go on and we spend more time together. I thrive on girlfriends though so I try very very hard to maintain my friendships with people I am close with! There are probably 5-10 more women who I talk to on a monthly basis - they just all live around the country so it's hard to keep up! PLUS I love all my online ladies who I share so much with too! However, many of them aren't married/ready for kids at all, so I feel like we are drifting apart, even though I really try to make an effort.</p> <p>I have one friend from wayyy back in 1st grade. She's not in the same "group" of friends as the ones mentioned above. She went to college 3 hours away and has since graduated, but stayed in her college town. We ALWAYS make an effort to see each other when she comes back to our hometown. We couldn't be more different when it comes to life stages, but she always has my back, no matter what. </p> <p>I met my best friend through DH's family. She started dating DH's cousin in early 2010 and they got married this past June, 2 weeks after we did. She found out she's pregnant about a month ago and I couldn't be more thrilled!
