I think we changed DD's diaper at least once an hour and each one was the sticky meconium poos. Our hospital only provides "sensitive" diapers so you might want to check with your hospital on what they offer.

Day 1: 10 dirty diapers (5 BM, 5 wet)
Day 2: 12 dirty diapers (7 BM, 5 wet)
Day 3: 8 dirty diapers (6 BM,, 2 wet) We left that day!

We went through 2 packs of Pampers (what is that, like 40-50 diapers?) in our 3 day stay with DS. We were changing him with every pee/poop because he was jaundiced and they needed to monitor his intake/output.

We plan to have all the testing done in our presence and if LO is a boy he will not be circumsized. When DS was a newborn he got horrible rashes from sposies because his skin is so sensitve. He would get these horrible rashes that required a change in diaper brand and medicated cream. I really want to prevent that with this LO.

I would worry about pieces of the diaper going missing. There will be times that the nurses have to do testing and the hearing screen in the nursery. I would be concerned that they wouldn't be used to using them and would throw out/loose pieces that you meant to keep.

@chopsuey119: We are using the disposable biodigradable inserts so we won't have to was them. We will only have to wash the covers if the diaper happens to leak.

We changed a TON of diapers at the hospital! I just used the disposables the hospital provided. We started cloth when we got home! Meconium poo was sooo gross and sticky!

@Mrs.B: the first few days babies poop black meconium.. I hear that it's a B to get out of cloth and would suggest using disposables at the hospital..!

Our hospital had a pack of pampers and wipes for us.

We are using Tiny G Diapers with LO and we want to start right away. I'm a little lost as to how many to bring to the hospital? We are going to be using the biodigradable inserts the first few weeks. How many covers and inserts should I bring? How many diapers did you change while in the hospital?
