We're on the other side now: we didn't start on Sat as planned because LO was sick. Sun and Monday he was excited about undies, but had minimal success using the toilet. Tuesday (day 3) was about 70% success and he stayed dry for nap and overnight. Yesterday (day 4) he had two partial pee accidents and a poop accident; everything else went in the toilet. He was also dry again for nap and overnight.

With OCPT, it was 2 days to 95% pee trained, maybe 2 weeks to 95% poop trained. It was almost a year until I never had to think about reminding her or worrying about accidents but we trained at 22 months, and I don't think zero accidents ever is realistic no matter the age. My memory is fuzzy but I think we maybe had one or two accidents per week for a while if I slacked on reminding her.

Umm we're a month in so far and still a ton of accidents! In fact it might be getting worse. So jealous of all these fast stories!

We had a very frustrating week of constant accidents with only occasional successes, but then he just started using the potty without prompting.

Making him sit on the potty didn't work, but once I left it up to him, he figured it out. He was already three, so he understood the concept and could get his own pants down.

The 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time we tried?!?! Potty training the twins was awwwwful. The third time it took about 1 week before the pee accidents slowed and for poop about 2 weeks for one twin and about 3-4 for the other.

This is why #3 is just going to have to walk in at like 10 and tell me he wants to stop wearing diapers. I can't bring myself to face it again.

We potty trained over spring break, when we were able to have him at home all week (including grandparent and babysitter care). We kept him naked all of day 1, bottomless on day 2, and commando the rest of the week. We day & night trained simultaneously and got rid of all our diapers all at once, so none of us had it to rely on. His only accidents were a result of us not prompting him consistently (taking him every 30 minutes or so at the beginning). That was March, and now in June he's entirely self-initiating, with maybe 1 night-time accident/week, when he just sleeps through needing to pee. The only time he had an accident at preschool after we trained was when his teachers failed to prompt him (and they told us, "it was our fault."). He was 25-26 months when we trained.

2 days (weekend), then she went to daycare and had 1 accident per day the first week, then maybe 3 total accidents the next week, then after about a month, she was doing great.

2. We just did it over the weekend (as daycare requested) and sent her in underwear on that Monday. She really had no accidents at home (we took her every 15min or so). She had some poop accidents the first week (going poop for the first time in the toilet sort of freaked her out) but otherwise she was fine. She was almost 2.5 and started asking to go consistently so it was very easy overall

We'll have 4 days with both mamas at home, and a 5th day where I'm back to work but my partner is home. I'm feeling pretty hopeful about sending LO back to daycare on day 6. T-minus-9 days!

We didn't have many accidents but it wasn't until the fifth day that my oldest figured out going without me promoting.
My second had that part down on the second day but on day four will still hold for her nap diaper.

5 days for LO1-- She had 4 accidents day 1, 2-3 accidents day 2, then 1 accident a day for like 3 days. But I had a newborn at home, so I wasn't always available when she started going, so that's why the 1-accident-a-day period.

2 1/2 days! DD was 27 months and beyond ready. I couldn't figure out a third full day off work so I picked her up after nap at daycare Friday afternoon and sent her to school in undies on Monday. It was an intense weekend but it worked!

The first day she had like 17 accidents. By the third day she was down to just a few. So definite progress, but we kept her home two more days before sending her back to daycare just because I was so paranoid it wouldn't stick. She did fine once we sent her back!

so we tried this in dec.. it didn't go well.

Last weekend she decided she didn't want to wear diapers so we did bottomless for a day, mostly on the potty one or two accidents, the next day was mostly bottomless and sometimes shorts. One big poop that didn't quite make it. At daycare last week she had 3ish accidents a day, but daycare can't watch her as closely as we could. By thursday no accidents and friday and sat successful poops on the potty. We still have to prod her to go sometimes but she's telling us more and more.

@lilyofthewest: two! I think she was just really really ready when we potty trained, because my daughter had theee pee accidents where we whisked her right to the potty and she got it, so much faster than I expected. Poop took another day. After that, she just got it and has hardly had any accidents. She was about 2.75 at the time. (Potty training is like the one and only thing my kid gave me an easy time with 😂)
