My dad's grandparents immigrated (as children, with their parents) in the early 1900s. Before that it's mostly Irish immigrants from Famine era to early 1900s, but some lines were here well before that. </p> <p>We both have ancestors who were in Massachusetts during the revolutionary war. Funny thing is, our families were on different sides - DH's 6th great grandfather was a Corporal for the US. My 6th great grandfather fought for the King and was given land in Nova Scotia in thanks for his service (and because he was probably no longer welcome in the US, haha). My great grandfather was the first one from that side to move back from Canada.</p> <p>I love genealogy.
