You have to do what you have to do. I highly doubt my LO would be affected if she were in daycare 1-2 hours longer a day. Most working parents have to have their children in care longer than 8 hours.</p> <p>My husband works nights, so he can just wake up and get her at 4. I've worked in child care (but won't be for this job) and I remember how long some of the days were and the other teachers talking about how hard it was on the kids. I just don't have any other option if I'm going to work eight hours. There were a few weeks this month when I had to do both because SO had surgery. Actually dh is going to be working in another state for awhile and only in town maybe half the month so there will be a lot of sooo parenting. We're home about 4:30, play/take a walk, eat at 5:45ish, then bath/books/bed and asleep around 7pm.</p> <p>ETA: he's 17 months, but those have been his hours at daycare since 15 weeks. </p>
