All the hours .... She's only 6 months though so this will change. Going back to work at 13 months is going to be so hard for us... I've literally never been away from her longer than a shower!

This makes me kind of sad because of how little I see her during the workday. I leave before she gets up and am home about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours (max) before she goes to bed. So 4 hours during the 4 days I work? But, I'm off on Fridays, so I'm with her during that whole day and generally all day on Saturdays and Sundays. So, minus sleeping time (she sleeps 12 hours at night and a 3 hour nap):

Mon - Thurs - 1 hour / day
Friday - 9 hours
Sat - Sun - 9 hours / day
Total: 31 hours a week.

DD is young so I maybe get awake time with her for 20-30 min in the morning, and then 1-2 hours at night. Weekends I'm usually with her every second besides running out for stuff once in a while.

D1: 3-4 hours per work day
D2: 2 hours per work day (sadness)

During the weekends it's all day.

Even though my time with the kids during the work week is limited, I do think that the quality is the best I can provide. It's a mad rush of daycare pickups, dinner, bath, and bedtime routine but it's the best I can do for now.

Weekdays from 5pm till 9pm. Weekends, we spend all day together so from 7:30am till 9pm. Which works out to about 48 hours a week? He does nap for about 2 hours a day on the weekends so 44 hours then?

Both girls are usually awake for around 11 - 12 hrs per day (taking into account naps and overnight sleep) and they don't go to any activities on their own (all of our weekly activities are for parents and children), so 80+ hours per week.

I will occasionally go to the gym or run an errand whilst the girls are awake and my mom or DH are watching them, but I tend to do those things more frequently after they have gone to bed. We spend lots and lots and lots of time together :-)

Weekdays - 1 hour in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. So, 3 hours total. 15 hours on the weekdays total.

My husband gets 1 hour per day with her on weekdays.

Weekends she is up for about 10 hours per day. I sometimes spend the night in her room, as well so, that's more time. :)

Hmm...45 min in the morning before leaving, plus 2 hours of commute together before and after daycare, plus 3.5-4 hours a night before her bed time. I guess that's averaging around 6.5 hours a day of awake time, which is 32.5 hours on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends.

56.5 hours a week total. That's a lot for a full time WOHM!

It's definitely not all "quality time". I'd subtract the morning time when I'm getting ready and the commuting time for that. The evenings are almost all quality time.

LO1 goes to full time daycare, but I pick him up around 4, so we probably spend 5 waking hours together per day.

LO2 only goes to daycare half days, so we spend probably 8 hours together (and she naps 1-2hrs of that).

Well, I SAH so I spend pretty much all of their waking hours with them. The kids get up at 7 each morning and go to bed around 7 at night and they nap about 3 hours each (my baby in 2 1.5 hour chunks usually) so I spend about 9 hours a day with each of then 7 days a week. I guess more with my baby since she is still waking up a bunch during the night.

So 63 hours a week. I'm thankful for that time since mine are still so little. I really enjoy it.

I was reading an article earlier that said almost all studies show that quantity time does not matter (as far as long term impact)... it's all about quality time. And we spend more time with our kids than any generations prior. That got me thinking about how much time I spend with my kids.

On a typical weekday - Charlie 3 hours. Olive 5 hours (she gets home 2 hours earlier). That translates into 15-25 hours during the weekdays.

On the weekends, pretty much from when they wake up until they go to sleep, so at least 12 hours a day. We'll say 24 hours on the weekends, though it's a little bit more for Charlie since he doesn't nap and sleeps less than 12 hours a day.

That comes out to 39 hours for Charlie and 49 hours for Olive in a typical week.

What about you?
