9 weeks, about 15 hours of sleep? She sleeps from 9:30-7:00am with 1-2 wake ups, and then takes 3-4 naps during the day. 3 if they're longer, 4 if they're shorter.

Not enough?

Around 11-13 hours, depending on how much he naps. He's an awful napper. Just awful.

About 10-11 total at night.

He's 4 months.

@photojane: We're still doing the paci retrieval at almost 9 months but I guess I don't mind because I think back to the days where there were REAL night wakings, so to speak, lol. Some days I can't even remember if I had to get up during the night. I read both Weissbluth and the Sleep Lady (well parts of them) and they have similar numbers although I'm not sure of the actual numbers. And I think Weissbluth says there will likely be wakeups whereas the sleep lady says "uninterrupted" sleep a little earlier..I think. I'm going off of memory. I like the chart better. :)

6 months, he sleeps 10-12 at night and anywhere between 2-3.5 hours, usually between two naps. On average, 13. He's never been super sleepy and will happily hang out in his crib for up to an hour (maybe longer... have never tested it longer!) in the morning if I am sound asleep and DH doesn't wake me. I'll take it!

@googly-eyes: Babycenter, I think. It seems pretty spot on with everything else I read too. She's been a pretty good sleeper! She used to sleep the 12-13 hours at night without waking until I moved her into her crib. Now she will usually wake twice for me to retrieve her paci! I can't wait until she can self soothe, but I know I shouldn't complain.

Used to be 12-13h at night (Uninterrupted!!) and 3 naps a day totalling in maybe 4h.....so 16-17h a day until he was 6m old.

Now at 7.5m old, he wakes up at the 8h mark, fusses and cries and goes back right away to finish up a total of about 10.5h at night
Naps are shorter, 3 naps but now they are never longer than an hour, the last nap never longer than 40mins, but I think that is because he is trimming it away.

So total? 13-13.5h at almost 8m old.

Almost 9 months, anywhere between 10-12 hrs at night and lately about 1.5 hrs during the day split between two naps, sometimes a few catnaps (30 min or less) if we're out all day. This kid does not like to nap during the day...

@photojane: Where'd the chart come from? Your lo sounds like she actually sleeps a lot!

10 months, and usually between 12-13 hours a night, not calculating in the time he's awake during night wakeups (which can vary between 1 wake-up of 15 minutes or 3-4 totally an hour or more.)

He usually takes 2 naps, usually 1.5 hours, although they can be as short as 40 minutes or as long as 2 hours. Yesterday he took one 2 hour and one 1.5 hour.

I'd say LO sleeps about 13-14 hours a day at 6 months. She sleeps from about 7:30pm-6:30am with 1-2 wakeups (post sleep training). She still naps 3-4 times a day, but she's a cat napper, so they're usually 30-45 minutes. If one's longer there are less of them.

@photojane: thanks for that chart! Yeah LO was sleeping 14 hours a night! Well...with some wake ups to nurse. Then she would take 2 naps that would add up to a few hours. I think we really need to shorten her night sleep just by a little bit.

I was thinking about this the other day & found this chart. Sadie will be 4 months next week, and usually gets about 16 in 24 hours. She takes four or five 45min-1hr naps during the day, and then sleeps 12 hours most nights. I think she's about average.

Baby A is 4.5 mo and sleeps about 10-10.5 at night with no wake ups (she's my favorite). Her sleep at day care is getting better, so I'd say she takes about 2-3 hours worth of naps every day. Sometimes more.

Um... it depends? Right now she's sleeping a ton since she's sick, so I would venture that she's going to get upwards of 18 hours of sleep.

Normally? About 16 hours? I will say that C sleeps WAY more than normal though. I think the average for a 14 month old is like 13.

And how old are they? We have been playing around with LO's schedule lately, since she still doesn't sleep through the night. We are thinking she is going to bed too early, or sleeping too much during the day, or both. I know every baby is different but putting her to bed later last night and only having her take one nap (but she slept in until 9:30am anyway, so two naps is hard to squeeze in), helped her to only have one wake up last night! She normally wakes up 3-4 times.

How many hours does your LO sleep in a 24 hour period? So night time sleeps and naps.
