He'll be three in September - usually about 11 hours total in a day. When he naps it's usually for 2 hours and he'll sleep about 9 overnight. He has low sleep needs.

My LO is 3 1/2 and sleeps no more than 10 hours at night (8-6 on a good day) and doesn't nap consistently at home. She usually naps at daycare (1-1 1/2 hours) and we do see her falling apart more in days without a nap at daycare.

I used to obsess about how little sleep she got but I have accepted that she just has low sleep needs as she is happy and fairly well-regulated most of the time.

DD is 3 yrs 2 months. She goes to bed around 8:30-9:00 and wakes from 6:30-7:30 (so about 9-10 at night) and naps from 0-2 hrs during the day. I feel like she doesn't get enough because she always has dark circles under her eyes. But even if we put her to bed early she usually rolls around til 9ish.

For a month or so she was waking at 6:00. I taped newspaper over he windows to see if it was the light waking her up and she went back to sleeping til about 7:00.

3 year old (later this month} sleeps 9pm-7am with a varying nap of 45 minutes to 2 hours. He's difficult when he doesn't get a nap, but stalls a lot during bedtime routine where he's cutting into valuable sleep time.

My DD is almost 3 and 10 hrs at night is the norm. Most weekdays she will take a 1.5-2 hr nap but the weekends (when DH and I are home) are hit or miss. When she doesn't nap she falls asleep a lot faster but will still only get 10-11 hours at night.

I think it varies so much by child! I think as long as they aren't a total monster, they are prob getting enough. Mine will be 3 in November and she averages 10 at night (8:30-6:30) and 1.5-2nap, so around 11.5-12 hours a day.

My son is 16 months and sleeps about 10 at night (8-6). He naps for a couple hours in the afternoon. He never seems tired though so it must be enough for him! He literally is running all day too! So. Much. Energy.

It's not average, but I do think it's normal. My lo sleep a ton (not quite 3). 11ish at night with a 2+ hr nap most days. But my good friend was never ever able to get her daughter to sleep a lot no matter what she tries.

I don't know, but I'd love to know the answer if you find it. A typical day for my 2.75 year-old is sleep 8-5:30, regardless of a nap or not. And if he does nap, it's an hour. I KNOW it's not enough sleep for him. I'd love to get him down earlier, but it's just not going to happen, especially with a 6 week-old to deal with, too.

Occasionally, he'll sleep until 6:30, but even then that's 10.5 hours in 24. If he wakes at 5:30, he'll lay in bed silently for another hour until his light comes on, but he won't go back to sleep.

No matter what, my three year old will wake up anywhere from 6 to 6:45.

Last night she got 9 hours of sleep, which means I let her nap for 1-1.5 hours. I'm finding that lately she only gets 10ish hours of sleep. If she doesn't nap, she starts to crash at 4pm and turns into a scary monster.

Even when she doesn't take a nap, she will only sleep 10 hours at night. One time she went to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 7:15! Once in a while if she wakes up at 6, I can get her to fall asleep by 7, and she will sleep for another 1-1.5 hours.

Is it normal to have this little sleep? Is she not stimulated enough? There shouldn't be any environmental reasons waking her up - we have blackout shades, white noise, etc.
