#1 - The situation was a bit different, we were military and had an out of state Easter trip ok'd by my OB at 34 weeks. We spent a couple days with family and they all noticed that I was in pain, my MIL (at the time) took me to the emergency room where the checked me at 4cm, and kept me for five days in active but not progressing later. Tricare would not cover the birth if I were to leave that hospital and travel back to our home, nor would they cover any interventions, so I got a shot of morphine, and was sent home to my parents for 4 hours on the fifth day, returned and gave birth at 11:24am. He was perfect and we were released the next day. Fast forward 9 years later...

#2 PTL from 28 weekson, a magnesium drip and 48 hour stay, 2 rounds of kidney stones, and constant non-progressing labor and I was induced the day after my due date. I would say active labor (Induction To delivery) was 11am to 7pm.

#3 A few PTL scares, nothing major. She came five days early and I was in active labor from 8am until 4pm.

DD1: 7 hours from water breaking to birth. Contractions didn't start until about an hour after water breaking.
DD3: 4 hours from water breaking to birth. Contractions started right away.

I didn't know it was actually labour with Georgia (because it was a bit early, I was a First Timer, and I was clueless)

I went to bed at like 7pm because I was uncomfortable.
I went to hospital at 2.30am because it was ramping up.
I was in active labour from around 7am that morning.
And I had her at 5.30pm the next day.

So I'd say around 22 hours, from start of cramps to end result.

It depends on how you count it. It was about 63 hrs from the time they started the induction until she was born via c-section. I can't remember exactly, but I was having contractions and actively laboring maybe 30-ish hrs?

#1 - 36 hours
#2 - I was induced but from the first actual painful contraction to birth was less than 2 hours
#3 - hard to say, because labor was very bizarre and sporadic throughout the day but from the start of actual active labor to delivery was less than 2 hours

From beginning to end, about 16 hours. Started feeling very faint contractions at 7:00 PM and then they went away. Woke up at 2:00 AM with stronger, timeable contractions. Went to the hospital at 5:30 AM and had Baby E at 11:32 AM after only 30 min of pushing! It all happened soooo much more quickly than I expected, especially since she is my first!

I count mine as 23.5 hrs. :silly: My water broke at 4am & contractions started within the hour. They did continue to progress for quite a while, but then sort of tapered off. They talked about giving me pitocin, but fortunately I continued to dilate & contract again just before they did. I pushed for 1hr without much progress, so they made me rest for 1hr, then I pushed for 1 more hr & delivered at about 3:30am, thank god--they were talking about a c-section if I went past 4am. I didn't sleep through any of that, or until we left the hospital, even, really. I was so tired, but so thrilled to have my DD, I just couldn't take my eyes off her.

I was induced. I went in on weds afternoon around 3 pm. Was given cervidil, it did nothing. Thurs they gave me pills? I can't even remember what it was! And had me walking around.. I think I was like 1 cm. That went on all thurs. By Thurs evening I hadn't progressed so they decided to do foley bulbs early Fri morning. 6 am Friday I got my epi, bulbs were inserted. I never felt a real contraction. The foley bulbs ultimately worked and then I was given Pitocin. I pushed for an hour and 45 mins and DD was born at 945 pm. I'm not sure how to count it. All total I was there for 52 hours but I'd probably just count Friday when stuff really started happening... so I'd say 15 hours.

I was induced at 41weeks. The cervidil didn't do anything so going from when they started pitocin (and they broke my water 30min after that) it was 13 hours start to finish. I was just a fingertip dilated and 50% effaced.

Hopefully #2 will be spontaneous and faster :)

Water broke at 10pm, first contraction hit hard at 2am, got to the hospital by around 9-10am, spent the afternoon in a lukewarm tub, finally caved and got an epidural at 7pm, started pushing a little after midnight, baby was born at 1am.

So, 17 hours of unmedicated labor followed by 6 on an epidural for a total of 23.

It was 36 hours from when I was admitted to the hospital to lo being born for an induction at 37 weeks (low fluid, but lo was still high/cervix was closed), though in the end I only pushed for 20 mins. timeline went something like this--
2pm admitted
6pm cervidil started
6am cervidil taken out, hadn't done anything
7am pit started
11am ish nothing happening, I'm still like 3 cm, insert foley bulb which is super painful/uncomfortable. the nurses and midwife all joke that I'm smiling too much
3pm? contractions start geting painful
5pm or so I ask to be checked again bc this is getting real! I decide that if I'm not close then I'll get an epi...aaaand I was only FOUR cm. Epi it is!
7pm epi inserted, I take a glorious nap
12am I'm at a 10! yay! Midwife says they'll come back in awhile, let me labor down for a bit longer...
1:45am they come back and I start pushing...I push for 20 mins before lo is born!
