One dinosaur. She's only 15 months though, I bet she'll get attached to more animals as she gets older, if she's anything like I was as a kid.

I have had zero success getting either kid to attach to a lovey. Someone tell me your secret!

@pregnantbee: agreed! I was hesitant though, because my niece had this lovey "chicky" that she was obsessed with. My sister tried to get a second, and my niece looked at it and said "pffff fakey chicky!" But luckily my daughter isn't as observant :silly:

@MrsA: best move ever. Baby girl is due in 4w, and I decided that a good gift from her older brother would be a lovey. So he picked, and then I bought 6 copies. I hope she likes it!

My oldest had a duck that she was obsessed with from like 6 months old until about a month ago. We lost the original but had a backup, but we lost the back up one now too, and they don't make them anymore. :( Luckily, she started to become really attached to this horribly ugly doll that my sisters boyfriends mom bought my girls hahah. So that's her new lovey.
My youngest has never been attached to anything, except for the same doll that my other daughter has. They each have one that kinda looks like them. I don't get it, these dolls are from the dollarstore, are so ugly haha, but they are both obsessed! I don't have backups for either, but considering how much they love them, it might be a good idea!

My older one had 3 of the same, but we lost one and then he started sleeping with 2 at all times. My younger one has two of the same but only has one at a time. I would definitely get a back up of the same one, just in case she is particular!

None. His phases with certain things only last weeks. His longest lasting lovey were his A&A blankets. I'm surprised because I still have my lovey (a bunny) that lasted my whole childhood and beyond.

My daughter has one best lovey- it's my baby doll from when I was a little girl that she named "Janky Baby". We bring her EVERYWHERE, she sleeps with her every night without fail, and the baby doll sometimes even eats meals with us in her own chair with her own (empty) plate and silverware. I had to handwash her and replace her stuffing since she got so gross from being dragged around the playground. God help us if that doll ever gets lost because I am pretty sure they don't even make them anymore.

She has a bunny that she's had since birth and started sleeping with around 10 months. We only let her have it in her crib/bed for a long time. We got a sheep of the same brand that she also loves and it also stays in bed. They have occasionally left the house - one doc appointment, one dentist appointment and once when the grandparents were watching her. I like them to stay in her room so they don't get lost or misplaced. She is super attached to them. Oh, and they do go in the suitcase and tag along when we travel and she has always slept great in her own bed - I think in part bc she has her loveys. We have one spare bunny and one spare sheep.

DS's lovey is his "Bear Bear". We have two of them that we switch out every month or so. We got a second one after we almost lost it at a store.

How many loveys does your LO have? Are they all the same? Will he or she accept substitutes?

Our toddler gets attached to different things at different times. She was never super attached to any one lovey.

The baby (6 months) has a bunny angel dear "from the Easter bunny" that she seems to really like and will snuggle with in her crib. I want to buy more but haven't decided if we should get identical ones or something different. The toddler has a tiger and an elephant and likes them equally- and would definitely Know if I tried to give one to her sister!
