@Mrs. Taco: A has had issues with eggs a couple of times so I am holding off for a while. I really hope he isn't allergic and maybe he just ate a little too much, but we may be in the same boat avoiding eggs. If so, I will probably have to change our breakfast so he can eat with us because we eat eggs pretty much every day. Today I made a hash with sweet potato, apples, bacon and kale and he was able to eat that. It was funny to watch him pick up huge handfuls and most of it fell in his lap.

@tlcbaby: We are doing three meals and because my husband gets home from work later, for now, I make Reese food and then cook for us after I put her down.

I also have to send all food to daycare because of her severe allergies so this is what she had today:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with a sprinkle of brown sugar and raisins (I cook a big batch and spread it out over a few days) & a half a banana

Lunch (they do this as lunch and snack--so 2 meals): 1 chicken sausage and 1 cup of mixed veggies (steamed)

Dinner: Grilled chicken (make a big batch again), roasted sweet potato (ditto), and a cup of apple sauce

Obviously Reese LOVES table food but on the flip side, she refuses her bottle most of the time so we're having that struggle. As I mentioned I make a lot of extra when I cook so then I can just heat it up for her--there isn't much variety but when you're allergic to milk, eggs, soy, and wheat, variety just isn't going to happen

@QBbride: I nurse when she wakes up and before naps and bedtime. Usually once overnight too. I'm still nursing 6-7 times a day and giving three meals. She doesn't nurse for long though, especially before naps. I could likely drop those feeds cause they only last a minute and she has recently eaten breakfast or lunch.

We have been doing 3 meals for about a month and she's almost 9 months. We have had to make some changes around our house. We eat dinner early now at 5:30 and sit at our table. We used to just eat in front of tv and much later. She usually has cereal, fruit, yoghurt for breakfast, fruit and veggies for lunch and veggies and meat/pasta for dinner. We are starting to give her bits of what we eat too.

@QBbride: We nurse when he wakes up, then we eat breakfast together and he usually asks for milk again sometime before his first nap. Then we nurse when he wakes up and eat lunch shortly after. If we are out and about he usually won't ask to nurse again, but sometimes he does. Then we nurse before bed and usually twice overnight.

@tlcbaby: yeah I find it a bit rushed eating dinner as a family if he woke up early from his second nap or if we haven't organized anything for dinner since he's usually going to bed by 7.

Question for everyone, how many nursing sessions/bottles are you doing during the day? I guess many of you are probably back to work so that would affect things too. Right now I'm nursing when he wakes up in the AM, after both his naps, then bedtime. Meals are given between the nursing sessions, so sort of close to his nap. He starts daycare soon so I'm wondering whether I should consider dropping a nursing session??

Well sounds like it is about time for us to start doing dinner as a family. :) Thank you all.

For lunch and breakfast right now I do some kind of steamed veggies usually, some lunch meat or leftover meat and then I will spoon feed avocado or banana or applesauce. He is starting to like oranges, too.

I think for the most part we can just give him our dinner, just need to do a little better planning and try to have dinner ready not too long after DH gets home so we can eat and get him to bed.

We've done 3 meals since about 7 months. We have feeding issues though so his meals are still mostly purees. He typically eats breakfast and lunch in his highchair. Whenever I get around to eating my breakfast/lunch, I share with him as a snack. We try to eat dinner as a family every night. He gets his purees and then we share our dinner with him as well.

We have done three meals since about 8 months. LO loves her food! We usually do yogurt or cottage cheese for breakfast, fruits and/or veggies for lunch, and either leftovers from our meal the previous night or an egg for dinner. Luckily, LO loves eggs. They are so easy to cook quickly when we get home! I usually scramble with veggies for her.

My LO is almost 11m and we've been feeding him 3 meals/day since he was 9m. The last meal I gave him was breakfast because I never have enough time in the morning!

We dud BLW.
Breakfast: fresh fruit and oatmeal fingers with peanut butter or toast fingers with hummus/peanut butter.
Lunch: fruit/veggies, fried or scrambled egg (most days), cottage cheese
Dinner: what we're having plus usually an extra steamed/roasted veggie

He has eaten 3 meals a day since he was probably 7 months old, mostly because we can't eat in front of him without him throwing a fit :) For breakfast, he has a banana or other fruit and some eggs or oatmeal with flaxseeds. For lunch, he has a couple of assorted fruits or veggies. Sometimes a Greek yogurt in there. Dinner is whatever we eat if its not spicy, and if it is I roast him a veggie or something.

He always gets breakfast and dinner, and some days we do lunch and/or snack too. Based on HB suggestions, we moved our dinner time way early (7, we used to eat 9 or later!) so he can eat with us and still get his reasonably early bedtime. At breakfast, I give him baby oatmeal and some fresh fruit. Most other times, he gets finger foods and/or some of whatever we're having. Now that he has some teeth, he's ingesting a bit more, but I never know if it's enough either! He's 11 months old next week.

R has been getting 3 meals a day since 9 months old but they're still mostly purees. She has yogurt for breakfast most days. I'm alone for dinner 5 nights a week and usually eat after she's asleep so it's going to be difficult to make the switch to table food for dinner.

So far, I am only feeding A breakfast and lunch and I have no idea if I am giving him enough food. I guess I am because he usually leaves some on his tray that I save for later or throw out.

I know we need to start including him in dinner soon, but I don't know how to do it. We have been eating after he goes to bed, DH usually starts cooking while I nurse him to sleep. I guess we can start eating earlier and keeping him up a little later?

Just curious what you other girls are doing with your LO's for dinner!
