We went through a rough patch last month with 4-5 wake ups. Now that I put her down awake and she can settle herself we are back on track. She is 5 months And most nights she typically wakes up once between 5-6am for a feed and back to sleep for a couple hours. We do have two wake ups occasionally but the first usually happens before I go to bed.

From memory we were having 1-2 night wakeups at around 5-6 months and we're still having as many at fifteen months:-)

We mainly nurse to sleep but LO can put herself to sleep and will occasionally STTN and she's big on waking for comfort!

1, until I found the glory of all glories, the Baby Merlin Magic Sleep Suit. I was still swaddling them at that point, and wanted a good transition. I didn't even have to MOTN wean them, they did it on their own. Heaven!

We had 3 wake ups at that age... 1130, 2 and 4. At around 6 months we started a dream feed of formula and that would usually eliminate the first waking. Our LOs sleep deteriorated after 7 months though and the dream feed did nothing, so we stopped that. Then with traveling, visitors and illnesses by 9 months she was basically up from 930 on...she demanded comfort nursing/holding by mom only and would scream when we put her in the crib. Since no one was sleeping and everyone was suffering (I had no patience with my son, was picking fights with my husband, overwhelmed at work) so we sleep trained at 9 months (we had tried previously tried and were too weak)! After a week of sleep training (my husband would do checks when crying escalated and I would wait to feed after 5 hours), our LO is only getting up once at 4am and we are in heaven. My daughter is so much happier, takes amazing naps now and I feel like a real person again!

DD is nine months and she "wakes up" around 4-6 times a night to nurse. I put that in quotations because she usually doesn't wake up, she just fusses as she roots around for my breast and then settles back to sleep as she nurses.
It affects my sleep very little though, I usually don't even fully wake up to feed her.

Xander would nurse around 6:00/6:30 and go to bed by 7:30. Then we'd do a dreamfeed at 9:00, he'd wake up to eat around 5:00, and then up for the day at 7:00. So I'd say we technically had two MOTN feeds, but one was on my terms. :)

Zero for us too starting around 3 months. Once time she woke but I was slow to get her bc I had to use the bathroom...she went back to sleep before I got to her. The next night I intentionally took my time and she fell back asleep before I went in there. She just started sleeping through after that. Every once in awhile she would wake in the middle of the night but if I just left her she always fell back asleep on her own after a few minutes.

@lawbee11: They really are twins-- 11 is the time she most often wakes up and cries or fusses a little! If she doesn't settle herself, I make DH go in and rock her, because if I go in, she wants milk and nothing else will do. Plus.... by then I'm usually in bed and don't want to get out and know i will in a few hours, so it's only fair that he does it, but I say it's because of the milk thing :)

@illumina: I definitely don't expect her to sleep 12-13 hours without any wakeups...but dropping to 1 would be so nice!!

@hilsy85: I'm going to give it a little more time and see what happens. It sounds like she's about average right now. She sometimes will fuss/whine around 11 but we've been letting her CIO (usually she's back down in less than 5 min) and she hasn't done it in a few days so I am hoping that's over with. I know you did Ferber where you didn't feed before 2am but she rarely wakes before 2 (if she does it's something like 1:50) so I am not sure what else I can do because I think it's totally plausible that she'd be hungry going 7 hours since her last feed.

@Foodnerd81: Ha come on girls...let's get to 1 wakeup!! They're sleep twins so if C does it M will do it, too :)

@aprk: Hey stranger!

5 months and R regressed majorly. She was STTN or getting up around 4/5 to eat. Then it started getting earlier and earlier. Next thing I knew we were back to 3 or 4 wake ups. Asleep by 7, started waking up at 1030, that one DH could rock her back asleep. She could still fall asleep on her own but she relied in us to get her back asleep. So we had to resleep train at 6 months. Our pedi recommended it and DH was glad that he had back up cause he wanted me to do it weeks earlier. I will say that 5 months she was getting her first two teeth and they were the roughest for her so far.

Last week, exactly what you wrote, right down to the occasional 1 and occasional 3.

This week she is starting to edge towards 1 more often. She will wake up sometimes and fuss, but not cry and eventually fall back to sleep, so I'm trying to let her fuss longer and see how it goes (up until a certain point in the night-- like, wake up before 3, let her fuss and hope she goes back to sleep, after 3, just go in and feed her.) One wake up I can absolutely deal with... 2 I'd really like to cut back.

My little guy is 4.5 mo and usually wakes twice a night (3/3:30am and 5/5:30am). Every once in a while he'll just give me one wake up around 4:30 or 5.
