My lo is almost 3 weeks and still has another few weeks in nb clothes and I still think we have way too many. We do laundry a lot but everyone gifted us nb stuff after she was born and we must have 10 sleepers and tons of onesies and kimono shirts. She only wears the sleepers and usually only the zippered ones, and we haven't quite found a use for the onesies or kimonos yet.

I would say that is plenty. DD is a chunkster and didn't fit in NB sized clothes for more than a week.

I would get 3-5 plain white onesies with long sleeves for layering with the sleepers if you have to go to the doctor's office or something. I'd also get a few gowns - they are so easy for diaper changes & I think they look sweet on newborns :) I had hardly any newborn clothes & my LO was in newborn for 7 weeks. I wished I had more, especially cute outfits! So I would get a few things you like for the zillions of pictures you will be taking. :)

In the early days I would do baby laundry every other day and five of any one item seemed to be adequate. My LO was also a spring baby and would usually wear a sleeper and a onesie with a cardigan if necessary and as she got older we moved to a onesie with pants during the daytime.

We probably had about 6-8 (she was a summer baby), plus tons of onesies and a few going out outfits (little rompers, fancier onesies, etc.) It is useful to have plenty in case your baby happens to be a prolific pooper or spits up a lot - in either case you'll be doing more changes than 1-2 a day! I was glad we had a lot, because DD was early and small, and wore NB sizes easily til she was at least 3-4 months old..I would have been bored silly with her clothes (and doing tons of laundry) if we'd had just the minimum.

I think I had about 6? She wore NB for about 2-3 months. I found that to be enough.

I had a summer baby so she actually mostly wore one onesies and a swaddle. We only had a couple of nb sleepers, like three, I think. I think five is a good start- if baby is big at birth you probably will hardly use them before they are outgrown. If baby is small, you can buy more.

I actually preferred snaps in the very early days- kept more of her covered during changes and it was easier to open the snaps to check the diaper. Once she was a few months old we prefer zippers.

I had 2 nb outfits. 4 days pp I was in target buying outfits to fit my lil guy! I would have 5-9 outfits. I don't think you need the onsies because you will always have a blanket or swaddle something on the baby.

We had about eight in the beginning, since we tend to do laundry, once a week. However, DD was in newborn for well over three months, so we picked up more, along the way.

We only had a few newborn sleepers. He wore those and smaller 0-3 (like gerber brand) for about 2 weeks before he grew out of them. He was nearly 9 lbs at birth though.

In NB size we have probably 12-15 sleepers! We also have at least 15 onesies...I got all of these used though so that's why we have so many. I think it depends on how often you want to do laundry. When we bought these for A we were living in an apartment and we had community laundry. Some nights we had to change her 2-3 times! Now we live in a house and have laundry so we can do it as needed, but since we are expecting another girl we will just use all of the sleepers/onesies again.

All our LO wore while she was in newborn sizes was sleepers. It made it so much easier with the millions of diaper changes and floppy little limbs.
Are all of the ones you have zippered? I found snaps were easier, only because you don't have to unsnap the whole sleeper to change a diaper. Keeps baby warmer.
I might get a few more than 5, just so you're not doing laundry ALL the time. Get onesies if you think it'll be chilly in your house, or if you plan to take baby out a lot in the winter.

Five is a great start! If all five get dirty before you can do laundry LO could wear a bigger size in a pinch. You are wise beyond your years to get the zippered jammies, snaps can be a big pain on a wiggly baby!

We waited until after our shower to buy most clothes because we thought we'd get a lot. And we certainly did! But we didn't get one thing in newborn size. We went out today and got a whack on sale. So now we have 5 newborn sleepers (zippered front with feet). Is that enough?? Do we need onesies? Or maybe some plain white ones to wear under the sleepers? Help! :)
