My LO is 7 weeks and she's the same way. Today I sat next to her on the couch and put her on her Boppy. She sat there until she fell asleep. Even though I had to sit next to her and constantly replace her paci I was so excited I immediately sent DH a text describing my accomplishment Haha ... It's the little things ... I hope she grows out of it. Everyone, especially some friends of ours tells me I'm spoiling her and that I should just let her cry. I'm just not comfortable with that at this point.

Me me me! I think around 3-4 months shed let me put her down, but not for long. We started at 5 minutes then it would gradually get longer.

I tried the bouncer and swing.

About 6 weeks I started being active about engaging him in places other than my arms. I would lay a blanket on the floor, lay him down and interact with him there. I would put him in his bed and talk to him while he sat there.
I started showering with him in his bouncer seat where he could still see me. The running water actually soothed him!
I also had him start taking naps on our bed instead of my arms, I would lay with him and nurse him to sleep. He is just now started to nap in his bed and the transition has been a lot easier than I imagined.

I usually only have to babywear in public now, like at the grocery store. He will last 30, sometimes even up to 60 minutes on his own, playing in his swing or his bed, I just stay close by and talk to him. I also usually put on his music and he seems to be comforted by his music.

But some babies I know never grow out of it. I would start taking proactive steps to get her used to having fun outside your arms. Sitting with him on the floor is what really helped us, I think. He could see we were still right there.

Lala is still like that :o! (It's just her personality).

But take heart, every month it got a little better. We used the bouncy chair for 5 min, then 10, and so on. By the time she was 6 months we were getting a whole dinner prep out of the bouncy chair and the exersaucer could get us another 30!

She's 2-3 weeks old, right? LO went through a phase right around then where she got really angry any time we put her down awake. I think she went through a growth spurt and that's also kind of when she started the uphill swing of the fussy newborn stage. There were times when the Moby saved my life too.

LO will be 10 weeks on Tuesday and I would say over the last 2 or so weeks is when she has spent a lot of time awake and alert and can entertain herself in the swing or the bouncer for a while and let me gets things done. She discovered the mirror on the bottom of the mobile on her swing and she is in LOVE with it. She can spend a good 30 minutes babbling and smiling at herself. She's also more aware of her surroundings and spends a lot of time just chilling and looking around the house at everything. I never knew furniture was so fascinating! lol

If she's at all tired or hungry, she hates to be put down and will scream still though.

It gets better, friend. I promise it does.

When my LO is awake, she absolutely refuses to be put down without screaming. She will be so alert and happy while we are holding her, but when we put her down in a bouncy seat or swing, she starts to scream within five minutes.

Lately, I have been wearing her in the Moby and she is absolutely in love with it. I can get a lot more done. However, it still is sort of a pain when I need to get housework done, or just don't feel like having a baby attached to me.

When did your LO start like being set down? Were there any toys or specific seats he/she liked? How long will this go on? Any tips?
