You can also try to feed him the bottle while he's positioned more upright so the bottle is horizontal and pace the feeding, giving frequent breaks. This might help slow the flow and help him realize he's full. That's exactly what happened. When breastfeeding, the flow is very slow and sometimes they'll even continue sucking when no milk is coming out. I don't think he feels as satisfied at the end of a bottle feeding though. He will always act like he wants more, but when he gets more milk he sometimes spits it up. Again, this could range from 20-30 ounces and is going to be different for formula. </p> <p>When my LO started daycare at 12 weeks, we had her still on 3 ounce bottles but every two hours she was eating. You can divide that by the number of feedings you have in a 24hr period to get an idea of how much your lo eats per feeding. At 1 month tummy capacity is 2.5-5oz. Although I can't measure how much she drinks when we breastfeed, I imagine its a lot if she's drinking that long.</p> <p>How many ounces does your 8 week old drink? </p>
