We didn't put him in shoes until he was 9 mos or so. I got a pair of blue Converse with a velcro closure. I got them mainly because he outgrew his snowsuit that covered his feet and he needed something on his feet to go outside in the stroller at daycare, but it was almost spring after a really mild winter. He was a size 4 in those, which he outgrew around 12 months. Now he has a pair of Circo soft soled shoes which are much easier for him to walk in and fit his fat feet. </p> <p>With how expensive shoes are, we are only planning for 1 pair at a time right now. Next summer he'll have sandals in addition to his sneakers, but this year we skipped them.
