LO just upped her bedtime resistance last week. MIL watched her over the weekend and said she was much harder to put down than normal. I hope this doesn't indicate problems in the future. When others have tried, they hand him off to my mom. Or he finally fell asleep whining/crying from exhaustion. DH could probably do it but it would take FOREVER. My 2.5 year old has given me so much trouble about various things at various points, but not our nanny. She always reminds me that "kids just know" that they can get away with more from their parents! That said....my kids will definitely go to bed for either of our moms or dads and any if our siblings/their partners....for babysitters...and probably friends, although they'd get away with more stalling with the ones w/o kids themselves. I made sure early on in LO's life to get her used to having different people put her down besides me (husband, parents, in-laws, babysitter(s)). I also think she loves her routine, so she doesn't mind so much who is keeping the routine, just as long as it's being kept! We are lucky and I am knocking wood right now that our next is similar. My twins (8 months) are still nursing, but they also take bottles. However, at bedtime they really only want to take a bottle from me. Last week, Alice took a bedtime bottle from DH and nearly fell asleep in his arms.
