But it's not one of my go to conversations. I've been surprised at how little it's come up with the primaries approaching. I think everyone I knew who I was voting for in the last several presidential elections. Luckily I live in a state where pretty much everyone leans the way I do, at least on the social issues. I'm a lone Democrat in a family chock full of Republicans, so it never becomes a productive conversation. If no one asks then I never say anything. It's not like they don't know, but I purposefully never bring it up or interject into their political discussions. I don't talk politics if I know the person disagrees with me on social issues. I dont mind talking/debating with people who are more fiscally moderate than I am. But with social issues it's a recipe for disaster, and nobody is going to change their mind. In 2008 I literally wore an Obama tshirt to the polling place (you have to cover it up to go in). In 2012 I didn't bring it up and most people I think assumed I voted Obama. Plus with social media (like FB), it's usually well known by what they post and like. </p> <p>I'm more open to sharing my views with my friends that have the same political views as me. (I don't talk about politics all the time so it's rare if it comes up, but some of the things we talk about has an indirect tone of how we side.) I don't like to talk about politics if I think they have a different view than me. I know it can get heated so I prefer not to argue over it.
