@tororojo: I was always waiting for a big blowout, but whenever she would finally poop it was totally normal. It was never an ordeal or abnormally large amount. They are using breast milk so efficiently that there's little waste.

Thanks, ladies...I thought it was probably normal, it just hasn't happened with us before! And I'm afraid that I'll get doused with poo at an inopportune time in public. I guess I will just toss an extra shirt (for me) in the car and wait it out!

My LO would only go once a week when he was EBF, although the pediatrician said it was safe to give him a suppository if he seemed uncomfortable.

For EBF babies our ped is fine as with no poo for up to ten (!) days. Breastmilk makes for little waste.

If she's not uncomfortable, she's probably fine. My LO had an every 8-10 day schedule for a while. It wasn't until late (like, after 11 months) that she started pooping every day. It's normal for EBF babies.

Sometimes we go 3 or 4 days. Sometimes he goes every day. It's always a surprise around here! :)

I have no idea if this is relevant, since you said she normally goes every day, but my LO would routinely go 7 days when EBF without pooping. Rule of thumb to me would be to call your ped if you are worried!

I'd say just wait it out! She's probably just gotten better at digesting and using most of the nutrients from your BM and doesn't need to poop! Xander used to go days and days without pooping!! It's totally normal for BF babies.

LO is 5 months old, EBF and hasn't pooped since Saturday. I am living in constant fear of a blowout since she normally goes every day....should I do anything or just wait?
