@theotherstark: Just saw this...sorry! It went up from 97.9-98.1 on Friday, and was 98.0 today. I am calling myself 2DPO.....and now incredibly freaked out that my Luteal Phase might be super short based on when I'm supposed to get my period (or....FX....an implanted embryo?!). It's always "something," isn't it?!

@ChiCalGoBee: Ugh, I'm new to OPKs too. They're so confusing! I don't think you should panic, though - my box says after a positive, ovulation should occur within 12-36 hours, so I think it's likely you caught the front end and then have gotten positives since then. It's possible it might be taking a bit longer to ovulate, too? Or something? I don't know :) Ha. Our bodies are so mysterious sometimes. Did you get a temp rise this morning??

@theotherstark: 3rd smiley in a row today.....now I'm beginning to panic. What the heck is going on?! So, uh, 3 positives....FX for a temp rise tomorrow so I can naively believe last night's BDing was actually at the right time. Oy vey!

I typically have two days of positives, sometimes three. Then I usually let myself get two days of negatives and then stop for the cycle.

I'm new to OPKs, and I got a positive (smiley face) on Tuesday afternoon, although my line didn't look dark. I also got a smiley face yesterday afternoon, and "my" line looked darker than the control line. However, this morning there was no temperature raise...I am planning on testing this afternoon to see if it's negative, which I think means O has already occurred? Shouldn't my temperature go up? This all is way more confusing than my junior high Sex Ed class led me to believe!

With this baby I got 3. Positive on the 27th, 28th and morning of the 29th. Then by that evening it was negative.

If I knew O was imminent I would test twice a day. I usually got positive AM, PM, and next day AM or PM, next day AM and PM, so 3 total.

@snowdrop so which day do you count as O? The day with positive am/very positive pm, or the next day with positive am/negative pm?

that's similar to me, but i go back and forth on which day should count as O.

@theotherstark: yeah people are really different so you'll just have to see over time how it works for you. mine is not gradual at all - it's very negative, positive for a short time, very negative again. of course I also have fertility issues so could be related. many people get that gradual build-up and ramp-down.

@septca: So interesting! I always try to see if I can feel O, but I can never tell if I am actually feeling it, or if I'm just over-analyzing every twinge.

@bhbee: Interesting! I actually just started using OPKs (because I was curious), so I am fascinated by all of this! I was really intrigued to read (on a few other threads as well) that you get a negative so quickly; I would have thought it was a more gradual progression. The things you learn from these threads! Love it.

I got a positive yesterday evening (test line same color as control), and this morning the test line was darker than the control.

I use FMU and usually get a + two days in a row. FF always think the day after the first + is O bc it assumes afternoon testing, but sometimes I feel it on the first day.

I stop testing if I get a positive, so I put 1. really it's 0-1 because I have a naturally short surge and anything close to positive means I would get a positive in +-12 hours if I tested more frequently. on the few occasions I have kept testing it always goes more negative pretty quickly.
