For us.... typically around 6-9 lbs? We usually only cook 5-6 days a week. There are 3 of us (2 adults and a five year old), and we typically go through around 1-2 lbs of meat a day (both DH and I also bring lunch from what we had for dinner the previous night). But then you also have to count the bones and shells on chicken, shrimp and such, and the fat we trimmed from beef and pork.

But we also eat very little carb. Mostly veggie + meat and a tiny bit of carb.

On Sunday we bought 3 lbs of beef round roast, 1.5 lbs of mahi mahi (both of these are on sale), and 8 pieces of chicken thighs which is maybe 3 lbs. I think we are going out to eat on Tuesday for DS's birthday but that would be 7.5 lbs of meat for grocery for around 4+ days. But there was 0.5+ lb of fat I trimmed out on the beef round roast, and a ton of bones in the chicken thighs.

I just added it up after grocery shopping yesterday and we bought 11 pounds! DH only buys bone in meat when given a choice though. We bought a large roast, a whole chicken, sausage and ground beef. That will get us through 7 days of dinners and leftovers for lunch the next day for the 3 of us.

I never thought of it in weight before ... this past week, we probably had 7-8 lbs at least. We're trying to cut down, looks like I need to put in more effort

Zero! DH is vegetarian and DS will never touch meat so we just eat veggie at home. When we go out I might have the occasional meat dish.

I'm surprised by how little meat people eat here. I wouldn't think that is typical in the general public. Hmmm... I try not to eat a ton of carbs (though I'm not super strict about it) so most meals have a lean meat and veggies.

5-6 lbs. I cook 1lb of meat each night for dinner. We will have some leftover depending on what it is. Then there is bacon or sausage for breakfast on the weekend and lunch meat. I don't like to repeat proteins during the week so I'll get beef, pork, chicken, and fish.

I'm going to say about 3 million! :silly: seriously though DH is ridiculous and can eat 2lbs in one setting, and he requires meat at every dinner so at least 10lbs a week. I'm trying to cut back on my meat consumption, though it that won't impact our bottom line as I apparently married a grizzly bear lol

at most probably 4-5 pounds. On a normal week, probably closer to 3. I try to include 2 meatless meals in my menu planning, if not more. I don't eat meat with breakfast and my lunches are always leftovers. We do order takeout that contains meat usually. I could probably give it up, but DH could not.

Probably 1 lb lunch meat, 2 lbs fish, 2 lbs chicken, and another 2 lbs of some kind of ground meat for soups/tacos/etc. So about 7 lbs. This covers lunches for DH & myself as well as dinners for us and two preschoolers. It's probably a bit more if you count the meat in the frozen things (meatballs, chicken nuggets, fish sticks) the girls eat for dinner when they're not eating with us.

In the summer it's probably a little more, since we regularly grill steak/pork chops.

About 2.5 if you factor in lunch and dinner. We only eat one meal at home on weekdays though. It used to be less meat on some weeks, but no one has the energy to cook big veggie dinners lately so we don't have much of a side course.
