We looked at one in the new area and it was amazing and a great fit for us. We only ended up touring one based on it being the best fit as far as price, location, and hours. Plus I had heard how great and caring the teachers were, which my LO needs because she's a shy, sensitive child. The first one was fine but the second one was perfect and M is already doing a parent & child class there so I think the transition will be easier. The first one is we visited is the one closest to our house, but I ended up not liking it. I had a hard time with this because prior to the visit, I imagined my kids going there and it's one of the reasons why we bought our house. Thankfully there's another one not so far away and I knew immediately. The feeling I got was so much nicer and it was much nicer. It's also smaller, which I love. One was a Montessori style preschool that was everything I thought I wanted, and I was really happy visiting it. But then I went to check out the preschool attached to the primary school at the end of our street, and I loved that one more. It was everything I thought I didn't want in a preschool (more structured, albeit still with loads of free play time), but it was so well organised with coherent themes running throughout, and the teacher was amazing - I was sold within minutes. DD also thrives on routine and structure, she gets overwhelmed when there is too much 'chaos' (using the term loosely to describe less structured settings), so I think the more structured setting will be better for her. We could have continued looking at other schools, but it was one of those things where I thought I knew what I wanted for her, but as soon as I walked into the one preschool, I just knew it was perfect, even if it was nothing like what I had been expecting to like. It's not only a great education system but the school is in a national park with an amazing picturesque setting.
