I've decided it's just the way of bank tellers though &amp; not to take it personally. Yesterday I went to a bank to cash a check &amp; was humiliated because I didn't have an account with them (I bank elsewhere), but that's where the check was written from, I just wanted to cash it &amp; had multiple forms of ID. She offered me $100, and said that only business accounts could ask for more than that.</p> <p>I told her that I had gotten $300 plenty of times in the past from the other windows, and offered to try another teller. She was extremely irritated, but agreed to give me the $300 in change. She didn't have to go to the vault to get it though; it was right there under her desk, in a box.</p> <p>The moral of the story is: as far as I can tell, there doesn't appear to be a hard policy at Citibank against giving lots of quarters.
