I keep them folded down and I don't know if I ever used them during the three years that I've had this vehicle. It isn't too big of an SUV and I like the option of extra seats. I love it! But if you want additional seating how about one of the smaller SUVs that has a flip up third row? That way it's not up all the time but you have the option if one of your kids has a friend over or something. We're considering either a 5 or 7 seat SUV. </p> <p>On one hand I think a 5 seater will be plenty, they are cheaper, easier to drive, better MPG....on the other hand I plan to keep the car for a long time and am wondering if when we have 2-3 kids I may regret not having a bigger car with extra space for road trips, carpools, visitors,... </p>
