We want 2 kids max (and the second is negotiable, especially given how long it's taking us to have the first).</p> <p>For me, I was the "good kid" in the family. My siblings were ALL HUGE troublemakers (failing out of school, drugs, gangs, rehab, jail, etc), as a result, I got ZERO attention from my parents. They believed that since I was on the honor roll, and the school wasn't calling saying I wasn't showing up and cops weren't banging on the door looking for me, that I was doing alright on my own, and I was pretty much forgotten. Which given their circumstances, I kind of understand, but I'm also kind of bitter about as an adult. I don't want my kids to ever feel forgotten. And I might be able to pull that off even if I had more than two, but I'd rather not stretch myself and my attention/love for my children so thin. </p> <p>DH just believes we should only have enough kids to replace ourselves on the Earth: two. I've always wanted a big family of my own. My parents were very strict and our household was very regimented and quiet.
