@Sammyfab, @Mrsbells: I am kind of obsessed with these cups and trying to get the word out on them. I forgot that the end game was to get LO to drink from a cup, not be dependent on a spouted sippy, so these were perfect for us.

@looch: I've been contemplating getting these cups because my LO loves drinking out of our water glasses. I think I'll definitely try them now that someone's recommended them! Cleaning sippy and straw cups is a pain :p.

@Mrsbells: I bought it well before we used it, but I gave it to him around 12 months. I noticed that he had problems going between a spouted sippy, straw cup and an open cup, almost like he would forget what he wa supposed to do, so i cut out the spouted cups and the straws for that matter and used either open cups or a training cup like this. The pressure of their lip on the top of the cup makes the fluid come out.

Sorry for the novel.

2. We have a Zoli and a Playtex straw cup. I hope she stops sipping water (or whatever liquid may be in the cup) and letting it dribble out of her mouth before we start milk in them!

@regberadaisy: I think having more than one once they are drinking milk will be good so you have an extra if one is in the dishwasher.

We have 5 of the playtex straw cups. It has been a good number. We can haveconr go to daycare with milk, one in the fridge with water, and another set if the ones from the day before are still drying. We dont run the dishwasher daily...4 would probably be fine though.

Just one, the thinkster by ThinkBaby. I don't really get why I need more than one? The only reason I can think of is needing one more when she is weaned from the bottle?

Hardly any, honestly. I think we have 2, and I only send those to day care. My son's been drinking from an open cup at home since he was about 12 months.

The ones I like best are these from AVENT, because they're not spouted. You can find them in Walgreens, I am not sure wherelse I've seen them.

3, they're all different and only used for water. I'm thinking of getting a straw cup for milk if we start that when he's a year.

I think you might need more than 2 if you're going to use them for water and milk.

LO is 16 months and drinks water and milk with meals. Currently we have 4 sippy cups that we rotate through. 3 of them are the Lollacups (straw cups) and 1 is the Thermos/Foogoo insulated straw cup)

We use one for water each day

We use another for milk each day (just fill in the morning and take out for meals and put it back in the fridge and refill as needed). We also take it out right before naptime but she just takes a few sips and it goes right back in the fridge

The spare straw cup is in case a sippy needs to get put in the dishwasher (rare)

We use the insulated straw cup for when we know we are going out to eat or traveling or spending the day out and about (like at the zoo or something...it keeps milk cold for several hours).

ETA: all sippy cups get washed in the dishwasher at the end of the day
