my LO is a week shy of 8 months and is eating twice a day, 4oz at lunch and 3 oz at dinner. I'm not even sure when and how we will be able to fit a 3rd meal in!

We moved to 3 meals a day just before 9 months old. We do a mix of purees and finger foods now. Go with your gut on when you add a 3rd. I always hated it when people would tell me that but then one day, I kind of knew that it was time.

I think I'm going to wait another month or so to start the 3rd meal. I just feel like 3 meals a day is too much for him right now. He eats around 4oz for lunch then another 4 for dinner, and would keep going if I wasn't so scared of over feeding him!

We introduced a second meal (breakfast) right around 7.5 months but weren't consistent with it until 8 months. Now, at 9 months, LO loves breakfast (but only after two morning nursing sessions, so it's really more like brunch) and dinner. I know we should introduce a third meal in there at some point but I'm not sure when we'll get there. LO does sometimes get snacks of mum-mums or yogurt bites between meals, but that's a random occurrence rather than a daily thing.

We did 2 meals a day until LO was 9 months, then we added a third. Now at almost 11 months he usually gets one snack in there too.

My LO had 1-2 solid meals at that age. She wasn't a good eater until she turned 10 months old.

LO is 8 1/2 months old and has maybe 1-2 solid meals a day-- sometimes I forget until dinnertime, and sometimes we do mum mums and puffs as snacks only.

We usually do yogurt and a veggie/protein combo for lunch and dinner. Fruit for breakfast if I remember. 90% of the time, we do dinner only.

My LO is 7.5 months and he usually eats a few bites of whatever we're having for breakfast--this morning it was oatmeal with an over-easy egg mixed in--weird craving, don't ask. He probably had about 2 Tbsps. Depending on when he's napping sometimes he has lunch with me, or an afternoon snack. Again, a few bites of whatever I'm eating--yesterday we split a container of Greek yogurt. He eats more for dinner. He really likes pasta...last time I made it I made a butternut squash sauce and he ate close to a full cup of it, but that's the top amount of what he eats...it's usually half that at dinner.

And remember, food before 1 is just for fun, so while it's good practice to learn how to chew and swallow and all that it's not strictly necessary.

My LO just turned 7 months and we are doing 2 meals a day, and about 2 oz each meal. She polishes that off no problem so I've been tempted to give her more but I am worried she won't BF as much if I fill her tummy with solids!

My DD is 8 months old and we do 3 meals a day. But only started doing 3 recently (a few weeks ago). We do fruit for breakfast, veggies for lunch and veggie/protein for dinner. She loves to eat.

My LO just turned 7 months and we're still at 2 meals/day (breakfast and dinner). He eats between 3.5 - 4 oz. at each meal, plus we are beginning to introduce puffs as a post-meal "treat", but he hasn't really gotten the hang of them yet. We'll likely go up to 3 meals/day when he turns 8 months.

She had zero! We didn't start solids until 9.5 months and still at almost a year she only has 2 meals a day for sure (breakfast & dinner) and sometimes lunch... usually she's just nurses periodically during the day.

My bebe is 7.5 months old. We're mostly doing purees still, I occasionally give him cheese or pasta or something to play with, but he hasn't quite figured that out yet. He's been doing really well at 2 meals a day (lunch and dinner), but DH and my plunket nurse have been bugging me to move him up to 3 meals a day.

How many meals a day does/did your 7-8 month old have? And how much did/do they eat each meal??
