Mine is 17 months and has about 100 words. Lots of two and three word sentences too, and she's started referring to herself in the third person lately. She's crazy on her verbal stuff like those kids who walk at nine months.

She also JUST started walking, and is slow on her other motor skills.

Chloe is 15 months, and can say close to 20 words and phrases. She can say things like "my mama" or "what's this?".

Her vocab astounds me!

@Honeybee: Our kids are so eerily similar with respect to milestones except that your daughter was the whole package from the get go (fine motor, gross motor and speech).

I forgot to say that M signs "more". Surprise surprise on that one!

ETA: He doesn't say it to us, just babbles mama and dada.

My LO is almost 15 months and for the past month or two she's been adding new words (she could say 2-3 words around 12 months but didn't talk a lot). She started wakling at 14.5 moths but was talking more before she started walking and kind of stopped talking as much for a week or two but now she's back at it. She can say the following consistently:

Hi
Bye bye
Dada
Nee (when she wants her bunny lovey)
Go
Car
Cheese
Corn
Uh oh
Owl (this was one of her first words and it's sooo cute when she says it)
Cat
Hot dog
Up
Ball (also one of her first words and so cute when she says it)
Eye (she says this when she brings us her dr. Seuss eye book)
Apple
"A" for the letter a (she has wooden letters)

She can other words but isn't consistent with them - mama (very rare), sheep, dog, cow, hippo, toast

She has consistent sounds for things but can't say the words, like "abc" for her abc book, elephant (she makes the same sound when she goes to get her elephant stuffed animal).

It's so crazy how they just start understanding and talking more and more everyday

ETA: the funniest word she says is sock which she pronounces "gock" but sometimes comes out cock...cracks us up everytime. She says it when we put on her socks and when we fold laundry and he tries to put on her dad's socks. She also says shoes (also freaking cute the way she draws out the word)

Lilly is 15 months. She says mama, dada, papa, grandpa, grandma, Grammy, uncle ryan, dog, cat, bark, jump, five, water, James, brother. Think there are a few more but I can't think of them. These words also aren't perfect. It's a jumbled toddle version of the word like grandma sounds like Nama.

DD is 19 months and says 40+ words I think. It's great because my eldest had a speech delay. It's nice having an early talker!

mama, papa, big sister's name, grandma, yeye, baby, cousin's name, hi, hello, bye

rice, apple, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, bread, more, eat, milk, water

read, book, elmo, dora, dog, cat (hello kitty), baba (brown bear), iPad, sticker

door, open, bath, car, home, bowl, plate, slide, yeah, no, ball

three, eight, nine (she tries to count with me and those are her favorite numbers to say)

she also says some phrases like "bye so-and-so", "clean up" and "i win!"

I think DS has about 25 words at 17 months. I know he's hitting the last wonder week too, so his understanding of things has grown a lot too recently. I expect an explosion of words in the coming months!

She's 12.5 months and has no words. Well, she says mama, dada, buh-bye and da-doh (not sure what it means, but she says it a lot) but she doesn't say them to us so I can't tell if that's considered a word, or just her babbling.

@rachiecakes: Same here - she understands all sorts of things, but just doesn't talk.

@autumnlove: woah, that's a lot of words!
DS was an early walker (10ish months?) but only has three words - mama, dada and poop.
I know he understands words though, I'll ask him to bring me certain items and he does get the correct ones.

Olive is 16 months. She's had the same 5 words for the past couple of months -- mama, dada & daddy, hi, wow, uh oh. I don't really care she's not walking... talking is the milestone that is the most fun! (Until they turn 3 and start talking back).

How old is your toddler and how many words can they say?
