i started with 1-2 oz 2x a day....around 6.5 months I started upping it to 3 a day, probably around 2-2.5 oz at each sitting. My pedi told us to offer until he doesn't want anymore, but I'm nervous of how much he would actually eat! So now I try to offer until I feel like he's losing interest (not opening his mouth as fast, getting a bit distracted). Or I'll give him to spoon to play with and see if that settles him down.

I just fed LO until it seemed like he didn't want any more. Around 6 months I offered 3 meals a day - breakfast was oatmeal w/ formula, lunch was puree of fruit, dinner was veggie. He probably took 2 oz each sitting (sometimes less, sometimes more) and still had about 25 oz of formula a day. I didn't really start table foods at 7 months and wasn't really enthusiastic about table foods until 8.5 months or so when he could feed himself.

I always just fed LO until she wouldn't eat anymore or got disinterested. But for the first 3-4 months of solids, she rarely ate more than 2ish oz at a meal. Maybe offer solids 3x/day?

A is a week shy of 6 months and we started solids a few days ago.

A few weeks ago we gave him an apple slice to gnaw on for teething. But we're both a bit nervous of 100% BLW, so this past wknd we started with some purees.

So far he's tried sweet potato, banana, and carrots. LOVES IT ALL.

We've only done one meal right before his bath/bedtime nursing session.

first day he had about 1.5-2 oz, second day he had some bananas in the AM and about 2 oz. of puree at dinner time, and last night he had at least 2.5 oz.

he keeps grunting for more!!! i am going slow just so i can ease into his digestive system changing to solid foods, but how much is enough without "overfeeding"? for a six month old?

(He still takes in ~30 oz of BM)
