I am a big iced-tea drinker and I tried to quit cold turkey after I found out I as preggers. It was just too hard and I had terrible migraines in the first trimester. Dr. OK'd one cup a day, so I'll try to limit myself to 1 a day (sometimes 2, but somedays none).

after researching, i don't stress too much about it. i cut back to practically nothing in the first trimester. now i have sweet tea pretty much whenever i want. there's very little caffeine (about 30mg) in a glass of black tea, so a couple of glasses every few days doesn't worry me. i used to love pepsi, but i can't stomach it much these days... i pretty much only drink tea and water now.

when i found out i was pregnant, i looked up the caffeine content in everything i typically have with caffeine (coffee, tea, pepsi, and chocolate), and now i am conscious to always stay under 200mg a day. which usually means one coffee and something else. And i switched to non-caffeinated soda at home just to be sure i don't have too much accidentally. so it's ginger and sprite for now and i only have pepsi when i go to a restaurant on occasion.

I cut down in the first trimester, but now have a cup of coffee or a 2 shot latte 3-4 times a week .That's usually all the caffeine I'll have for the day.

I started out continuing my one cup a day, but I couldn't get past a couple sips of coffee so I stopped for a while. Now at 37 weeks pregnant for the last couple weeks I have had a frappacino from Starbucks a few times a week and take sips of hubby's diet cokes and occasionally have my own reg coke.

I drank water 95% of the time while I was pregnant. I would allow myself to get a sweet tea or coke/diet coke when I went out to eat, but I didn't always. If I wanted coffee, I would just get decaf.

During the first trimester I had virtually none, as coffee was about the least appealing thing to me ever! After that, when I was feeling a bit better, I have tended to have about 1/2 to 1 cup of coffee or a soda a day, plus a little bit of chocolate some days. I tend to get a small coffee but not drink most of it. My original OB was anti-diet soda (which has been hard for me!) so once in a while I will have a Coke instead. I'm afraid I won't be able to go back to diet after the baby comes!

Yeah, I'm a huge coffee drinker so I really had to limit my caffeine intake. I cut out caffeine cold turkey during the first trimester (literally thought I was dying!) and then allowed myself one cup of coffee in the AM.

I went back to 1 cup of coffee and 1 coke a day in my first tri, then once that was over I stopped limiting. In NICU we put caffeine in the IV's of extreme preemie babies to help them breathe, so I don't worry about it.

I would have up to 2 cups of coffee per day. I have narcolepsy (excessive daytime sleepiness), so prior to getting pregnant, I was on medication to keep me awake during the day. I couldn't take that medication while pregnant so I had to resort to coffee or tea to keep me awake while at work. It was the lesser of two evils (caffeine vs. methamphetamines)...

The farther into my pregnancy, the more lax I have gotten with this. I was super strict about it in the first tri, I basically drank zero caffeine. Second tri I started drinking my beloved Korean instant coffee again (Maxim Mocha Gold!) that DH brought home for me from working overseas...And I also would have tea at lunch.

Third tri I haven't paid nearly the same attention to it. If I want tea, I've drank tea. If I wanted a Diet Dr Pepper, I drank it. But I still drink 80% water.

Not really. I think about what 200 mg would be and stay under that. Coffee upset my first stomach in the first tri and it's just now starting to sound ok. I've had green tea and soda once in awhile. I don't think small amounts of caffeine are any worse for you than sugar or unhealthy things, anyways. Unless i'm drinking double shot ventis and more than two sodas a day, I'm well under the limit

I only had a few (less than 5?) sodas during the first trimester, but now I'm up to probably 5 sodas/coffees a week. I was just thinking that I need to cut back. The caffeine doesn't really concern me, but sodas have so many empty calories/sugar I figure it should be more of a treat than an everyday thing.

But yumm, Dr. Pepper...

Also, I'm not an everyday coffee person but I do love a good latte. I don't get those frequently enough to feel the need to limit my intake, though.
