I've been checking our bills to get an idea of what we are doing. My DH and are fairly consistently each using about 1GB. Neither of us use wifi (I only recently turned it on my phone for at work). We plan to go to the 4GB shared plan on Verizon and it should be more than enough for us. I didn't think about the first month usage of downloading apps though. We opted for 4GB of shared data. After I initially saw this post, I went back through my old Verizon bills and found that I barely even used 1MB of my data. So I'm hoping 4G will be plenty for the 2 of us. Although with him just having his new smartphone for less than a week, we're already up over a MB. I will have to look at his phone and turn off a few background apps like I did on mine. And each month I seem to be hitting that 50% earlier and earlier! I already got my 75% warning for this month, and my billing cycle goes until the 23rd. </p> <p>I want to download some apps to help kill things I'm not using so I don't waste any data, but I don't have enough data left to download them this month. Ha! </p> <p>Do you guys go over your data plan? Do I need to spring for more? Do I need to quit playing on my phone so dang much? I'm not sure what I'm doing that is eating up so much data. I don't really stream videos or play a lot of games. I'm just surfing the net and using Instagram, mostly. </p>
