A few places were over a thousand.<br /> There is a province wide low cost spay and neuter program but their wait list was over a year for a spay. It cost about $250 USD to neuter my dog and that included abdominal surgery (he had an undescended testicle) and an overnight stay, 6 years ago. That's insane. We took both of our dogs to the animal control center, where it's $40 for spay/neuter + microchip + rabies shot. Call your local pound and see if they have other options. Neutering is an incredibly easy and quick procedure and should be nowhere near $700.
