we just got back from the doctor. it's not teething -- she has a viral infection that caused an ear infection, diarrhea, and congestion!

My son is definitely affected by teething. He got progressively more "symptomatic" with each new tooth eruption so we started getting pretty good at recognizing teething. For him he would run a low grade fever, have gritty loose stools, drool insane amounts, get a stuffy nose, would wake frequently and cry a lot (shorter fuse). The gritty-ness of his poop was usually most consistent "tell" because nothing else, including antibiotics or colds, would make his bowel movements gritty.

The upper teeth bugged her for a few days but that was about it. I thought about Oragel but gave her teething rings instead. She has 9 teeth at 9 months and it hasn't been as hard as I expected!

Not at all. He has two teeth and I wouldn't have even noticed them except that DH lets him "bite" his finger and he felt them. I count myself lucky.

Olive was constipated and in pain so we gave her some prunes and she was cured hooray! But over the past week she hasn't been her usual happy self. She's been pooping like crazy, and it should be solid given how much solids she eats, but it's more diarrhea-like.

She has also been completely rejecting the bottle, waking up all night, fussier in the daytime, waking up crying from naps and at night (when she usually wakes up happy). She's been grinding her teeth a lot so the only thing I can think of is that it's teething.

Teething never affected Charlie that much, and Olive has 8 teeth and it hasn't affected her much thus far.

But what could be causing diarrhea (the prunes were over a week ago), crankiness, bottle rejection, and night waking?
