I paid about 250 thru a friend (who is a local photographer) for E's newborn, 3 mo, 6 mo, 9mo, Christmas, and one year. I've done several sessions for less than $100 - typically about 30 minutes long which is a perfect amount of time - and they include a CD of at least 15-30 hi-res images. And I don't really need more than that. If I haven't seen anything for mini sessions, sometimes I'll email a few and ask if they are planning on any in the future. </p> <p>Otherwise sessions fees with a CD of images or prints tend to be in the $300-$500 range here. It was perfect. Cheap, and honestly our son wouldn't have lasted longer than 45 minutes anyways.</p> <p>That said, I know his newborn session was much more expensive. </p> <p>I honestly would go as cheap as possible so that I'm able to take family photos more often. I've had really good luck with photographers who are stay at home moms, or who are doing it as a side business. Some who are looking to develop their portfolios are more likely to give discounts, too! </p>
