When LO was in fulltime, it was $1400. I agree with others who have said to take a long view; daycare is only 4-5 years max (and get cheaper once your LO isn't an infant). It isn't just about straight take home - daycare = net; it's health insurance costs of having to be added to your spouse's plan, lost retirement savings, and the time out of the workforce. We're looking at day care for our 13 month old now (just a couple of mornings per week, for a couple of hours), mainly for socialization and we're looking at $95 per day, not including food.
