I needed a chair that I could rock two babies in! That was roughly $400 (It was BOGO for two, we sold the second one on Craigslist for $300). </p> <p>That doesn't include paint for the walls or bedding, maybe another $100? </p> <p>BUT if you divide that into two, it's around $750 per baby, so that's okay, right? Our crib was a gift (0$),we bought an ikea dresser ($200), a changing pad and cover (no clue--$40?), and a few crib sheets ($40). So.....less than $300 for stuff that is actually in our nursery.</p> <p>BUT. I posted on here several times before about our glider chair debacle. We spent a fair amount on a glider chair I really wanted that I thought would also look good in our living room in the future (it doesn't look like baby nursery furniture at all). And because of a ridiculous series of events from the baby store we purchased it, we didn't even get it until LO was 5 months old and it went right into the living room.</p> <p>So....if I don't count the chair, $300. If I do count that stupid chair, we're in the $1000-$2000 category. Stupid glider.</p> <p>Oh wait--edit. Since we waited so long to get our chair, we got it for free. SO...jk. our nursery total is still $300. She had no decorations up in her room till after her first birthday and then they were repurposed DIY from her party. :P</p> <p>The crib and glider are being reused for #2. ILs are gifting us a dresser for new baby. Had we had the extra wiggle room, I think I would have used the $ we didn't spend on furniture and art to get a slightly better mattress. As it was, I like our mattress, but I was also looking at some slightly better organic ones. I'm almost certain my mother will want to get this for us.</p> <p>We are reusing a long dresser and have a humidifier, so we'll just need a changing pad and a trash can. We're just putting the baby in a corner of our master, so I don't think we'll need much more. We have an existing recliner that swivels and rocks, so that will be fine. So I put under $500 total. So, we were able to do it for less.
